Rare & Original Sunderland Pink Luster Milk or Cream Pitcher for your consideration. The pitcher measures approx. 5 1/4 inches tall and approx. 6 inches from spout to handle. Georgian, Staffordshire/Sunderland, England. Soft paste, Pearlware. Elegant palette of copper-pink luster on creamy-white ground. Exceptional hand painted floral motifs throughout, including stylized sprigs, leaves & blossoms. Sophisticated serpentine striations, creating a pleasant vertical ribbed pattern, complimenting the centrical medallions of five-petal flowers on all four sides. Lovely, delicate beaded handle with decorative leaf and dot design. Further intricate beading and copper luster banding around the shoulder. Hand painted underglaze “4” mark to base. Very good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Two flakes to either side of spout and shallow flake to base rim. Fine crazing throughout.
