19th century Sampson Bridgwood & Son “Porcelain Opaque” hand painted maritime pitcher for your consideration. The pitcher measures approx. 7 3/4 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches from spout to handle. Hand painted sea theme in center with gilt pink decorative band including gilt floral design. Constructed two raised rib form at top and raised scallop pattern towards the bottom. Marked on base, “PORCELAINE OPAQUE” “TRADE MARK” “BRIDGWOOD & SON” including shield crest. Also included on base of pitcher is an impressed “X” mark. Pitcher shows wear commensurate with age and use. Crazing throughout. There is a manufacturing imperfection on inside of rim (does not go through to the outside of pitcher). See photos. Displays elegantly!
