Antique Apollo Decorative Tray with Lecomte du Nouÿ “Honeymoon” Photogravure Insert for your consideration. The tray measures approx. 16 1/2 inches long, 8 inches wide and approx. 3/4 of an inch tall. First quarter 20th Century rococo style tray fitted with late 19th Century photogravure print, “Honeymoon”, original painting by Jean-Jules Antoine Lecomte Du Nouy. Photogravure by Goupil & Co. Printed on thick “laid” paper stock. Sepia, Black & white engraving from copper plate. Book plate from Etudes In Modern French Art, E. Strahan. Scene depicts a Renaissance man and woman, romantically embraced, floating in gondola, in Venice setting. Description of scene can be read on back. Oval four-footed base. Impressed mark on one foot, “APOLLO 3776”. Excellent antique condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age and use. See photos. Displays romantic!
