Description
Antique Georgian Mahogany Bow Front Corner Cupboard for your consideration. The cabinet measures approx. 27 1/2 inches tall, 17 1/2 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep. English, late 18th to early 19th century. Solid oak with crossband mahogany veneer surrounding bow fronted doors. Wax finish. Interior of cabinet is constructed with two fixed shelves. Original brass lock, escutcheon and four hinges. Original brass inset sliding locks at top and bottom of left door; modern replacement screws functioning as knobs for latching mechanism (not seen, hidden behind door, see photos). Modern replacement functioning skeleton key included. Two metal brackets on back for hanging on wall. Overall, good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Right door is a bit warped towards the bottom yet does fasten shut when locked. Further condition issues include but are not limited to, scratches, dents, marks, stains, splits, cracks, historical restorations and alterations, etc. Condition issues are not noticeable except under close examination. Solid and ready to use. Natural, warm patina! See photos. Would make a wonderful cocktail cabinet, displays gorgeous!
