Rare & Original Art Deco Blue Heron Biscuit Tin for your consideration. The tin measures approx. 10 inches long, 7 1/2 inches wide and 1 3/8 inches tall. Scotland, Glasgow, c.1920-30s. The Sunshine Biscuit Bakery, Wylie, Barr & Ross. Flat, rectangular form, hinged lid. Raised tin-litho imagery of three blue herons in flight on lid. Orange and black background with gold gilt clouds and tall reeded grass bellow. All four sides depict further blue heron motifs in flight. Embossed mark on base reads, “WYLIE, BARR & ROSS, LTD. The Sunshine Biscuit Bakery GLASGOW. ORIGINAL MAKERS OF THIN WINE – THE ARISTOCRAT OF ALL PLAIN BISCUITS-“. Good vintage condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use.
