Rare Art Deco Ceramic Elephant Powder Jar/Box for your consideration. The jar measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches deep. Likely made in Japan, c. 1930s. Hand Painted. Quintessential Art Deco. Figural elephant finial on top of lid. Octagonal shaped purple box with decorated circle and triangle lined designs in white, black and green colors. Impressed, “X” mark on base. Very good condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Fleabite and short hairline to mainly inside rim. Not noticeable except under close examination. See photos. Displays pleasantly; Scarce!
