Rare & Original Antique Plow Boy Tobacco Tin Lunchbox for your consideration. The tin box measures approx. 5 inches tall without handle or 8 inches tall with handle, 7 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2 inches deep. American, Chicago, early 20th Century. Spaulding & Merrick (a successor to Liggett & Myers). Known for being featured on rare 1910-era baseball cabinet cards, the brand utilized high-quality Kentucky leaf tobacco. Marketed as a “chewing and smoking” tobacco.

Tobacco tin box with advertising litho-imagery on front and back of a young man sitting on farm-plow smoking cigarette and holding a tobacco tin in his hand. Reads, “PLOW BOY” “SMOKE” “CHEW” and “SMOKING”. On sides it reads, “PLOW~~BOY” “SMOKING TOBACCO” and on lid, “PLOW BOY SMOKING”. Original wooden bale handle.

Good antique unrestored condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Litho-imagery is a bit faded in some areas. Light scratching and denting throughout. Back right corner of lid is a bit flared. Bottom shows some areas of rust and loss. See photos. Displays attractive! Scarce!
