Rare & Original, Art Deco Carlton Ware Sandwich Tray for your consideration. The tray measures approx. 10 inches long, 6 1/4 inches deep and 1 1/2 inches tall. English, Stoke-on-Trent c. 1935-1940. Ceramic, matte glaze. Oval shape, fin-handles. Yellow, green and blue drip glaze against cream ground. Marked on underside, “CarltonWare” “MADE IN ENGLAND” “TRADE MARK”, impressed shape number, “1341 2” and handwritten, “5917” plus further illegible marks. Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Age stains and crazing throughout. See photos. Displays quintessential moderne! Scarce!
