Antique Framed Crown of Thorns Celluloid Button for your consideration. The framed print measures approx. 6 inches in diameter and approx. 1/2 of an inch thick. American, Chicago, IL, early 20th Century. Columbia Medallion Studios / Columbia Portrait Co. Artwork is after German artist Fridolin Leiber (1853-1912). Colored lithograph of Jesus Christ wearing crown of thorns with drops of blood trickling down his face. Radiant halo illuminated around his head. Framed in circular metal button, covered in domed celluloid fashioning as bubble glass. Decorative hook at top for hanging on wall. On back is circular mark that reads, “COLUMBIA MEDALLION STUDIOS CHICAGO”. Excellent antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age. See photos. Displays inspiring!
