Rare & Original Antique Tramp Art Box for your consideration. The box measures approx. 9 inches wide, 7 inches deep and 6 3/4 inches tall. American, 19th Century. AAFA, Folk Art, Tramp Art Box. Hand crafted, chip-carved from old cigar boxes, geometric 5-layer three-dimensional design. Decorative Brass; Oriental stylized handle, ornate star & daisy tack detailing & aesthetic escutcheon. Red velvet accents adorning exterior and interior. Four ball footed base. Remnant of cigar advertising on the underside of the box. Excellent antique condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age and use. Missing key, box remains unlocked yet functional. Velvet on exterior is a bit faded but still in good, presentable and intact condition. Very little loss to carvings except two small layers missing (and brass tack) on single 3-D design on the back of the box. Condition issues are not noticeable except under close examination. See photos. Displays phenomenal, a must for the Folk Art enthusiast!
