Description
Antique Tunbridge Marquetry Trinket Box for your consideration. The box measures approx. 8 inches long, 5 inches deep and 3 1/8 inches tall. English, Late 19th to early 20th Century. Inlaid veneer of a variety of different colored woods, cut in small pieces, forming a mosaic pattern in two decorative bands. Diamond inlay escutcheon. Double brass hinged. Old star patterned wallpaper lining the interior. Overall, good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Areas of veneer missing, mainly along edges. Flaking to interior lining. Missing a removable tray that would have rested on the side supports. Missing key, yet box is unlocked and functions properly.
