Rare & Original Vintage Fruit Cake Tin Container for your consideration. The tin measures approx. 10 1/2 inches long, 6 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches tall. American, First half 20th Century. Old advertisement. Tin-litho decorated, rectangular lidded box. Lovely transfer decorated lattice and grapevine design. Circular company brand advertised on lid and on short sides of box. Brand depicts a short and stocky butler, wearing powder wig and Rococo tailcoat, serving fruit cake confidently on platter held high in right hand. The circular brand reads inside border, “-THE F. O. STONE BAKING CO. – CAKE SPECIALISTS” with “RICH” and “FRUIT” on either side in Art Nouveau design. On the two longer front and back sides reads, “THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS 4 POUNDS AVD. NET WEIGHT STONE’S FRUIT CAKE” and “THE LOCKWOOD MFG. CO.” towards the corner bottom. Very good vintage condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. See photos. Displays attractive. Rare!
