Victorian Autograph Book, Originally Belonging to a Young Lady that went by Sara, Sarah and/or Sally, from Adams State Teachers College (A.S.T.C.) in Alamosa, Colorado for your consideration. The booklet measures approx. 5 inches X 7 3/4 inches and approx. 1/2 of an inch thick. The autograph book itself dates to c. 1880s. Aesthetic Movement designed cover with a lithograph portrait of a young Victorian girl. Book is titled, “AUTOGRAPHS”. Cover is further decorated with cartouche embossing and decorative birds, bees and floral motifs. Total of 35 pages, 28 of which have handwritten notes from fellow classmates and teachers. The entries date c. 1929. One entry in particular, as seen in the 14th photo, is by Harriet Dalzell Hester, who became the university’s first graduate. She became the school’s first librarian and an Alamosa County school superintendent. Overall, good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Book is mainly intact but coming loose in several areas. See photos. A great Colorado historical document. Displays lovely!
