Turn-Teplitz Alexandra Porcelain Works Ernst Wahliss Winter Snow Ice Curtain Vase c.1905-1910

Rare & Original Ernst Wahliss Winter Vase for your consideration. The vase measures approx. 8 1/2 inches tall and approx.3 1/2 inches in diameter. Top opening diameter measures approx. 2 1/8 inches. Austro-Hungarian Empire, Czech Republic, late 19th to early 20th Century. Alexandra Porcelain Works, Turn-Vienna, Ernst Whaliss (1837-1900) likely second generation, sons Hans and Gerhard Martin Wahliss. Art Nouveau/Jugendstil. Earthenware, “Winter Snow” or “Ice Curtain” line. Ovoid form with four stylized footed base. Lovely hand painted winter scene with snow covered trees and applied gilding. Marked on base with the EW Turn Vienna Shield mark including impressed, “9317” and handwritten, “9217” marks. The vase is in fair, “as-is” antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. One of the legs has been crudely reattached and old glue residue is visible. There is a chip to another leg. A few minor fleabites to top lip. Crazing throughout. See photos. Displays important.
