Pair of Folk Art Narcissa Thorne Style Shadow Box Diorama Framed Pictures for your consideration. Each framed picture measures approx. 9 1/4 inches X 11 1/4 inches and approx. 1 3/8 inches deep. American, First half 20th Century. Gold-gilt wood frame with scenes under glass. One scene depicts hand painted watercolor maritime background. Hand decorated lithograph cut-outs of young boy and girl, plus young woman standing closer. The other scene depicts hand painted watercolor background of rolling-hills farm setting including a stone bridge and lake. Hand decorated lithograph cut-outs of two young girls and young woman standing closer holding bouquet of flowers. The lithograph characters are all in Victorian dress. Each picture has matching hand painted green and white striped awnings and decorative rod iron spiraled railings, giving the appearance of a balcony. Red and white diamond-patterned paper backing. Framed pictures are unsigned, att. to Narcissa Niblack Thorne (1882-1966). Very good vintage condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. See photos. Displays attractive!
