Huge Antique Chinese Red Lacquer Tianqi Qiangjin Box for your consideration. The box is massive, measuring approx. 21 1/2 inches in diameter and approx. 4 inches tall. Chinese, Qing Dynasty, possibly earlier. Red Lacquer, six pedal flower form. Finely hand decorated gold gilt floral motifs on pedals. Raised circular gold gilt lotus in center. Further adornments of floral and labyrinth hand painted details along the sides. Inside and underside base of box is black lacquered. Skillfully crafted lidded box is tightly fitted and secure. Very good antique condition. The box shows wear commensurate with age and use. Minor chipping and cracking, mainly contact areas on sides where lid meets box base. See photos. Displays important, museum quality!
