Framed Oil on Board Impressionist Painting, “Winter Sunset: by Mr. Shade for your consideration. The framed painting measures approx. 13 5/8 inches X 26 inches and approx. 5/8 of an inch thick. The painting measures approx. 12 inches X 24 1/4 inches. American, First half 20th Century. Impressionism. Oil painting on board. Painting depicts snow-covered winter scene of an old oak tree beside a creek bank. Muted sunset in background. Painting is in original robin-egg blue painted wood frame. Old handwritten label on back reads, ” #8 Winter Sunset by Mr. Shade Springfield Art Museum April 1 to May 1, 1935″. The art museum was contacted to discover more information about the painting and artist but unfortunately, the art museum doesn’t have records that date this far back. A bit of a mystery piece. Excellent vintage condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. See photos. Displays aesthetically pleasing!
