Doulton Lambeth World’s Fair Columbian Exposition Stoneware Jug for your consideration. The pitcher measures approx. 8 inches tall and approx. 6 inches from spout to handle. English- made for American market, Chicago, late 19th Century. Stoneware, two-toned brown glazed. Embossed white glaze writing, “Christopher Columbus Sighted America October. 12. 1492.” under the spout. Raised oval imagery on either side of lettering, including profile of Christopher Columbus on left and Mayflower ship on the right. Several impressed marks on base includes Doulton Lambeth mark, artist marks and the number, “8387”. Excellent antique condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. See photos. Displays superb!
