Digoin & Sarreguemines transferware plate for your consideration. The plate measures approx. 8 inches in diameter. Last quarter 19th Century. Floral blue transfer border with brown transfer scene in center of plate. Scene depicts heavily bandaged man with guard standing around corner of building. The plate reads, “PETITES ANNONCES” at top and “On cederait, apr. fortune faite, industrie facile, sans connaissances specialis.” at bottom. Translated to English reads approx., “OFFERS: We give fortune in industry without special knowledge”. Digion & Sarreguemines crown and shield stamp on back of plate including impressed marks, “036L” over “3”. Excellent condition; no chips or cracks. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. See photos.
