Aesthetic Movement Transferware Putto Handkerchief Plate for your consideration. The plate measures approx. 8 3/4 inches in diameter. American, last quarter 19th Century. Dresden Works of Potter’s Co-operative, East Liverpool, Ohio. Aesthetic Movement, transferware with hand decorated embellishments. Embossed basketweave porcelain plate with two overlapped designed handkerchiefs, decorated with cupid character. The cupid is standing on tiptoes of a lily pad, reaching for a cattail. Globe mark on back of plate reads, “DRESDEN WARRANTED CHINA”. Very good antique condition. No chips or cracks. Shows wear commensurate with age. Crazing throughout. Signs of wear to the back of the plate from being displayed in a wire plate holder. Some minor soiling and age stains. See photos. Displays charming!
