Continental Bronzed Spelter Boy Figure on Marble

Continental Bronzed Spelter Figure of Boy on Marble Base for your consideration. The bronze figurine measures approx. 11 inches tall, 4 3/4 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Likely French, early 20th Century. Comical figurine depicts young boy with fearful look on his face with pottery shards scattered around his feet. He is likely scared for his life after his mother finds out her great-great-grandmother’s vase is now in shambles. Who knows exactly what is going on in this scene, but I think we all can relate.

The bronze figure is in very good antique condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. Beautiful natural patina. Small hole on top of bronze base, appears there might have originally been something there. Not noticeable except under close examination. There is a bit of a rattle when figurine is shaken. Bronze is secure to marble base. See photos. Displays charming!
