Rare & Original Framed Coaching Scene Lithograph for your consideration. The framed print measures approx. 16 inches X 26 3/4 inches and approx. 1/2 of an inch thick. The print measures approx. 13 1/2 inches X 24 1/8 inches. English, late 19th to early 20th Century. British artist, Cecil Aldin (1870-1935). Colored lithograph under glass in period oak frame. Print depicts lovely horse drawn carriage scene traveling along seaside boardwalk. The coachman, a lady in Victorian dress (likely Aldin’s wife, Rita), while a young boy (likely Aldin’s son, Dudley) sits in back with arms crossed, humorously suggesting he should be the coachman. A borzoi runs alongside the carriage, while a bystander looks on in the background. Copyright, signature and date, (18)97 in stone at bottom corner. Titled, “BRIGHTON”. Very good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age. Small chip to top corner of glass. Age staining to lithograph throughout. Colors still present vividly and imagery is crisp and clear. See photos. Displays splendid!
