Beautiful Brazilian Butterfly Wing Morpho Charger for your consideration. The plate/tray measures approx.11 5/8 inches in diameter and approx. 1 1/2 inches tall. Brazil, mid-20th Century. Attributed to Carlos Zipperer Sobrinho (1895-1960s?). Charger, Litho-imagery of Jesus Christ with Sacred Heart, Morpho taxidermy, butterfly wing, under glass and encased aluminum. Portrait of Christ is surrounded by a mosaic of genuine iridescent butterfly & moth wings. Impressed mark on back reads, “MADE IN BRAZIL”. Loop on back for hanging on wall. Very good vintage condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. A few of the butterfly/moth wings show a bit of loss. A few very small dead mealybugs remain inside towards the bottom. Condition issues are not noticeable except under close examination. See photos. Displays gorgeous!
