Abalone Shell Rosewood Lined Box

Beautiful Abalone Box for your consideration. The box measures approx. 3 3/4 inches X 3 3/4 inches and approx. 1 inch tall. Mexico, mid-20th Century. Brass framework. Abalone; mother of pearl, iridescent, tessellated shell mosaic covering the lid and four sides. Rosewood lined interior. Brass underside with four ball footed base. Single hinge lid. Marked on base, “HECH EN MEXICO”. Excellent vintage condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age and use. A few faint hairlines to some of the shells. Intact, fully functional and hairlines are not noticeable except under close examination. See photos. Displays gorgeous!
