Rare & Original Antique Framed Theatrical Tinsel Print for your consideration. The framed print measures approx. 8 1/4 inches X 9 1/8 inches and approx. 1 inch thick. The print measures approx. 5 1/4 inches X 6 1/4 inches. London, first half 19th Century. Collage tinsel print, theatre, actor likely William Charles Macready (1793-1873) as Rob Roy MacGregor (1671-1734). Print is hand decorated, depicting a man in Scottish battle gear including armor, shield and sword. Hand colored castle in background. Artwork is under glass and encased in period Mahogany frame. Handwritten inscription in pencil appears to read,” Ron Ronald”. Good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age. Area of hat shows some tinsel loss. Frame shows signs of wear, especially at corners but does appear to have updated restorations with new backing. The artwork has not been examined outside of frame. See photos. Displays handsomely!
