Limoges Style Hand Painted “Ozarks Hillbilly” Porcelain Mug with Old Fishing Lure for your consideration. The mug measures approx. 7 3/4 inches tall and approx. 4 1/2 inches from handle to rim. Base diameter measures approx. 3 3/4 inches in diameter. Fishing lure measures approx. 3 1/8 inches long. Folk Art, American, First half 20th Century. Likely Missouri or Arkansas, Ozarks region. The lure and mug were purchased together at an estate sale in Springfield, Missouri. Porcelain “blank” mug, hand painted portrait of a comical hillbilly character smoking a tobacco pipe. Artist signed towards the back of the mug. Gold gilt rim and handle. This lot also includes an old, unusual amber rubber fishing lure with white tentacle stylized design. The mug and lure are in good vintage condition. Each item shows minor wear commensurate with age and use. The fishing lure is soiled from years of use, creating a natural patina. See photos. Displays pretty as a peach!
