Rare & Original Vintage W Britains Civil War Confederate Calvery Lead Toy Horse Riding Soldiers, Five Piece Box Set for your consideration. The box measures approx. 18 1/4 inches long, 3 5/8 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. Each horse and rider measures approx. 2 3/4 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches long and 1 1/8 inches thick. United Kingdom, mid 20th Century. Hand painted hollowcast lead toy confederate soldiers riding on horses. Boxed set includes three riders on brown horses with adjustable arms holding rifles, one soldier on black horse with adjustable arm holding rifle and one soldier on gray horse with adjustable arm holding sword. Original box reads, “BRITAINS SOLDIERS” “REGIMENTS OF ALL NATIONS” “MANUFACTURED BY W Britain IN LONDON ENGLAND” “TRADE MARK” “NO 459993” “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE CALVERY” “NO. 2055”. Very good vintage, played with condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. One of the brown horse riders is missing hand and rifle, plus the horse is missing back left hoof (ref. photos 15 & 16). See photos. Displays spectacular! A must for any avid toy collector, Scarce!
