Art Nouveau Lacquered Parrot Box

Art Nouveau Lacquered Parrot Box for your consideration. The box measures approx. 8 1/2 inches long, 6 1/4 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches tall. Japanese, first half 20th Century. Lacquered wooden box. Red lacquer box with black lacquered lid and base, gold gilt border. Hand painted design on top of lid depicts two overlapped hearts, three-leaf clover motifs and pinkish-red exotic bird. Interior of box, black lacquer. Double hinged, gilt metal escutcheon. Very good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Box remains unlocked, fully functional. See photos.
