Description
Antique Pairing of Old Cosmetic Bottle Collection for your consideration. Starting with the tonic bottle; measures approx. 6 inches tall with stopper, 5 inches without, 1 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. Original paper label with portrait of young woman with long wavy dark hair. The label reads, “DR. DE REAQUES QUININE Hair Tonic ELYSIAN MFG DETROIT U.S.A.”. Original glass crown stopper with bird motif etched on all four sides of crown. Base is embossed, “453”. This bottle is scarce, rarely seen!
The second bottle is unusual, an amber glass cork stopper bottle housed in a treenware screw-on lidded cylindrical box. The amber bottle has the old, original serrated paper label, yet illegible, embossed type. In addition, there is very old remnant of handwritten label on the base of the wooden container. Fluid still inside bottle. Cork sealed.
The bottles are in overall, good antique condition. They show wear commensurate with age and use. Small chip to lip of tonic bottle. See photos. The bottles display superb! This pairing would make a great addition or start to any antique bottle collection!
