Rare & Original Antique Folk Art Cigarette Holder for your consideration. The figural tobacco holder measures approx. 7 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches wide and 7 inches deep. American, early 20th Century. Tobacciana; smoke stand figure, cigarette/match holder. Folk Art, wood, hand carved and painted figural penguin-like butler character wearing a tuxedo. Hinged-lid tobacco compartment on back with match strike ridge under the figure’s elongated beak-like nose. Good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Character would have originally been holding a tray and wearing a hat which are both missing. The left shoulder shows a bit of loss. See photos. Displays whimsical!
