Rare & Original Antique Framed Theatrical Tinsel Print for your consideration. The framed print is a nice larger size, measuring approx. 12 1/4 inches X 14 3/4 inches and approx. 1 inch thick. The print measures approx. 9 inches X 11 inches. London, first half 19th Century. Collage tinsel print, theatre, an actor Mr. Horn as Caspar. Print is hand decorated, depicting a man in flamboyant battle gear, holding a wing in his left hand and a rifle in his right. Hand colored cottage in the background. Titled at bottom, “Mr. HORN AS CASPER” and “London, Pub Feb. 18. 1839 by A. P…” which has been partially cut off; Provenanced, lithographer Archibald Alexander Park (A. Park, (active 1835-1863)). Artwork is under glass and encased in period bird’s-eye maple frame. Excellent antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age. A few minor areas of disturbance to collage work, but mainly intact. Frame appears to have some updated restorations with new backing. Framing company stamped logo on back reads, “framing by DeBERGE’S Kenosha, WI”. See photos. Displays handsomely!
