Antique Chinoiserie Gilt Lacquered Papier-Mache Bowl for your consideration. The bowl measures approx. 9 inches in diameter and approx. 2 1/2 inches tall. European, 19th Century. Black lacquered papier-mache with gold gilt scene in garden setting. Two samurai warriors are about to battle in front of queen in Imperial court. Scalloped edge with traces of gold gilt border. Very good antique condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age. Gilding is a bit faded, but imagery strong. See photos. Displays exquisite!
