Art Nouveau Reticulated Silverplate “Greek Mythology” Mounted Glass Jardiniere Centerpiece for your consideration. The jardiniere measures approx. 15 1/2 inches long, 7 5/8 inches wide and 3 7/8 inches tall. Late 19th to early 20th Century; Germany. Jugendstil silver-plated openwork mount. Double handle with floral decoration. Four paw-footed base. Greek Mythology scenes on each side including Poseidon, the Greek god of sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses. Original cut-glass bowl insert. Marked on base, “2”, “9322” and diamond mark. Very good antique condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age and use. Glass has some faint surface scratching and a few fleabites on edge. Not noticeable except under close examination. Silverplate is a bit tarnished. See photos. Displays spectacular! RARE!
