Arts & Crafts Style Oak Barley Twist Hammered Pewter Candlestick Pair for your consideration. Each candlestick measures approx. 10 1/4 inches tall. Top diameter measures approx. 2 1/8 inches; base diameter approx. 4 3/4 inches. Candle inserts measure approx. 1 inch in diameter.
England; First half 20th Century.
Oak twist body with hammered pewter bobeches and bases.
Each candlestick is marked on base, “CRAFTSMAN SHEFFIELD PEWTER”. Craftsman Sheffield Pewter was a trademark of Viner’s Ltd. in Sheffield, England c.1926 – 1939. (Source: Pewter Society. British Pewter Marks of the 20th Century)
Overall, good vintage condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Pewter and wood are a bit wobbly, but intact and functional. See photos. Displays handsomely!
