Rare & Original New York State Militia Belt Plate for your consideration. The belt buckle measures approx. 2 inches X 2 1/2 inches and approx. 1 inch deep. American, Civil War to Post War era. Brass, rectangular, embossed with gothic “NY” initials. Worn by officers from New York state. Modeled after the U.S. Model 1851 sword belt plate. Excellent antique condition.
