Vintage Hand Painted Papier Mache Jester Mask for your consideration. The mask measures approx. 14 inches tall, 13 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches deep. Latin American, Mexico, mid 20th Century. Hand painted and hand-crafted papier mache “payaso” jester festival dance mask. Smiling face with blue eyeshadow; eye cutouts. Jester is wearing a green, yellow and black polka dot cap ‘n’ bells. Old black and white headband ribbons. Hand signed, “OROZCO MEXICO” on underside of mask wall. Good vintage condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Plaster has a bit of chipping and cracking, predominantly to high points, such as chin and nose. The headband ribbon is very worn and would likely need a new headband if this mask is being purchased for intended use of being worn. See photos. Displays amusing!
