Description

Antique James Dudson Stourbridge Mosaic jug with hinged and weighted pewter lid by William Spurrier for your consideration. The jug measures approx. 8 inches tall and approx. 6 inches from spout to handle. Earthenware mosaic design. The handle is fashioned into a branch with a serpent wrapped around. On the base is an impressed mark that reads, “PATENT MOSAIC 23 STOURBRIDGE”. The pewter lid is hinged and weighted. On the weighted ball is a mark that reads, “SPURRIER REGISTERED MAY (?)st. 185(?)”. Excellent condition. Shows minor wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks. Light stains and glaze drip on one side. See photos. Displays magnificently!
