Italian Sorrento Ware Book Slide c. 1930s

Sorrento Ware Folding Book Slide for your consideration. The book slide measures approx. 11 3/4 inches long, 2 7/8 inches wide and
4 1/4 inches tall. Double hinged folding bookends rack with veneer inlay design. One end has scene of two winged putti figures and a devilish faun creature playing a musical reed instrument. The other end has scene of further cupid-like creatures; one riding a goat pulled chariot. Old handwritten label on bottom of book slide reads, “Sorrento Feb. 2. 1931 M?D”. Also in handwriting directly on the wood reads, “A GIFT FROM UNCLE GEORGE A. DUPUY ABOUT 1935”. Overall, good vintage condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. End decorations show some light signs of chipping and cracking to veneer. See photos. Displays interesting!
