The framed painting measures approx. 15 1/8 inches X 22 1/8 inches and approx. 2 inches thick. The painting measures approx. 13 inches X 20 inches. Listed San Diego, California impressionist artist.

Still life painting depicts basket of fruit including pears, peaches and apples. Signed bottom right, “C.A. Fries”. Original gilt wood frame. The back of the painting is signed, “BASKET OF FRUIT 77 CO”. Also included is a hand written note on back that reads, “Charles Arthur Fries (1854-1940) Basket of Grapes cir. 1905-11 17″H X 23″W est $3000.00-$4000.00”.

Overall, good condition. Painting and frame show wear commensurate with age. Scrape to painting that goes through to back that measures approx. 1 1/2 inches long and approx. 1/4 of an inch wide. A few other small worn spots to paint and canvas. Surface dirt. Wood frame is missing portion of gold paint at the bottom. Condition issues likely could be restored by professional. See photos.
