Oval portrait measures approx. 2 3/4 inches X 3 1/2 inches. Hand painted portrait of a jolly old chap with blue eyes, closed lips and a confident yet kind expression. He is modeled in an attire of a brown hat, brown vest, blue overcoat and a white scarf. Exceptional quality and finely executed portrait painting is under glass and encased in period gold gilt Victorian frame. The ormolu frame is decorated with pierced floral open-work and applied cartouche sprig motif towards the top. Original leather backing to framed portrait. Triangle loop at top for hanging on the wall, yet this portrait painting is fitted with the handsome walnut stand as seen in photos. The stand appears original to the artwork.
