Early 20th Century Julia Marlowe tin litho serving tray advertisement for Kilgour-Rimer Co. for your consideration. The tray measures approx. 13 5/8 inches X 16 5/8 inches. Tin litho image of American actress Julia Marlowe(1865-1950) wearing a white dress with pink sash around her waist. Her hands are clasped at her chest. The border depicts four Shakespearean vignettes of Marlowe including Rosalind, Mary Tudor, Viola and Juliet. Art Nouveau design with jesters at top and bottom. Further Art Nouveau scrollwork with patriotic blue stars. On back of tray reads, “THE KILGOUR-RIMER CO. LTD.”. “BOOTS, SHOES, RUBBERS, MITTS, GLOVES” “SOLE AGENT CELEBRATED” “JULIA MARLOWE” “SHOES FOR WOMAN”.
Overall, good condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Rusted area towards the bottom right. Scratching and litho loss. Edge shows wear. See photos. Displays elegantly!
