Antique Folk Art Hand Painted Scenic Tambourine for your consideration. The tambourine measures approx. 12 1/8 inches in diameter and approx. 1 1/2 inches thick. Continental, likely French, late 19th to early 20th Century. Lovely countryside scenic painting on old tambourine. Hand painted scene depicts architectural and agricultural setting with bridge over stream. Tambourine is constructed with two overlapping bands. Three of five jingles remaining. Illegible handwritten signature on back in pencil and on front in red paint. Very good antique primitive condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Cracking and small areas of missing paint. Two jingles missing as mentioned above. See photos. Displays attractive!
