Antique Folk Art Carved Wood Man Nutcracker for your consideration. The nutcracker measures approx. 12 1/2 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches deep. Hand carved wood nutcracker in the form of a man standing slouched with both hands in pockets. Lever in back opens and closes the man’s mouth to crack nuts.
Inscribed on front, “Wölfelsgrund” which is German for Międzygórze, “a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bystrzyca Kłodzka, within Kłodzko County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.” -Wikipedia
The nutcracker dates from the late 19th to early 20th Century.
Overall, good condition. Missing portion of lower right jaw. See photos. Displays and functions splendid!
